Flames… on the Side of My Face

Filed under: Uncategorized — qualifiedcondition @ 6:27 am

A couple people have asked why I’m not writing anything these days.  (I will confide that this is exactly why I started a blog in the first place).  And the answer is that I hate this blog.  I hate it so much.

At first I thought I would write about urban design and building stuff but I realized that it absolutely sucks to write about things from a neutral perspective and it’s not really smart to write about things from an “oops I got fired” perspective either.

Occassionally I have written about food, which I like, but I keep forgetting about that because usually after I cook something that I like I don’t write about it.  I eat it.  And then I take a nap. Also I am a horrible cook.

At one point I used this blog to harangue, in a passive aggressive way, all of my evangelical friends about big gay homo issues, but that was probably a larger reflection of my own insecurity than anyone’s medieval Bible reading and you people still seem to invite me to weddings so you must actually love me.

And occasionally I have written about any old thing, which is actually the most fun.  This is something that I can pull of when I am not insane and neurotic and wasting my time doing bull shit that “pays the bills,” and “is public service.”  But I’m out of pot.

So I promise that I’ll write something good soon.

  1. Write something “good” you say? That sounds really hard. Why not just bombard the world (well, really just the curious) with any old thing that comes to mind, like I do? But seriously, I have enjoyed your blog, whatever you’re writing about. My wife also enjoys it quite a bit, although she is not one who usually writes comments. As for writing about work-related stuff … well, that’s why I had to start writing anonymously.

  2. What?! You can’t turn all self-loathing on your blog five minutes after I finally discover it. Keep writing. The purpose of blogs is not goodness.
