Dog Update

Little Walter has been pretty damn awesome so far.  Well, his name might be Walter.  Leon is another option.  Between my willingness to settle on any name that comes up and Kenny’s willingness to keep options open until the dog names himself we may never decide.  Nevertheless, he is very friendly, likes people, likes other dogs and seems to get a lot of smiles out of people.  Also, he shat all over the lobby at the vet.

Whenever I leave him at home alone I try to be very aloof when I return.  The theory is that they feel less anxious about you coming and going when it’s less of a big deal.  Consequently, no big “I missed you!” hellos.  So I’m walking around the  house, half-ignoring the dog who is jumping and begging for attention, when he goes and finds the tennis ball that I’ve been throwing around for a few days–the tennis ball the he’s been ignoring–and drops it at my feet.  Adorable.  I throw it, he does a Scooby Doo run on the wood floor, chases the ball and brings it back.  He can play fetch!  I love him.

  1. LEON! That’s a great name. He would share a name with one of the greatest movie characters of all time: http://tinyurl.com/dfq5q5.

    • We have named him Walter. Let’s just say his middle name is Leon. And his last name is Badical. Miss Jackson if you’re nasty.

    • Yes, I like to think of him designing stark, simple little dog beds and stuff. I just don’t see him sounding German, but I’m open to a paradigm shift…
